The youngest of seven children, I was born and raised in Eau Claire, and I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I currently live there with my wife, Kari, who is an educator in our local school district, and two daughters, Sydney and Shay. My family and I like to stay active through cycling, walking, and going to the gym, and I personally enjoy fishing and studying history in my free time.

My family and I regularly volunteer at our local food banks, and I have served in various roles, one being the President of the Noon Exchange Club of Eau Claire.
